With the 3e Extinction (Third Extinction) series, Christophe Ducoin explores the theme of ecological collapse through a collection of powerful and evocative drawings on paper. These works translate a contemporary sense of urgency, providing a visual awareness of life in peril.
Each drawing questions our relationship with nature, endangered species, and our own responsibility in the face of the environmental crisis. Animal figures, hybrid human forms, and deserted landscapes come together to create a dark, poetic graphic universe.
Based in Toulouse, Christophe Ducoin (also known as El Chuzpo) addresses a more activist dimension of his work here, without sacrificing the formal strength of his compositions or his freedom of graphic interpretation.
An Artistic Gesture: Between Testimony and Revolt
The drawings in this series, rendered on paper, are driven by an expressive, direct, and often raw line. They evoke a kind of graphic cry—a testimony to the vanishing of the natural world, as well as an act of creative resistance.
Each piece is unique, conceived as a visual warning and a fragment of memory of what might disappear. This series is firmly rooted in a contemporary, engaged, and sensitive artistic approach.
