Paintings on canvas

A selection of works painted on canvas in various formats. Several canvases have been painted in Mexico and others in Toulouse, France. Some are in my workshop, others have gone to collectors in France or elsewhere.

Many are inspired by the daily life that surrounds me and reflections on social issues, such as the work “Je t’aime moi non plus” which is a visual reflection on the yellow vest movement in France. Some of them take up classic themes of Western painting: “Saint George and the dragon” with of course a reappropriation through my neo-figurative style.

Some paintings clearly have Mexican influences due to my long stay in Mexico. The painting “The Masked Vigilante” uses an iconography of the Indians of Chiapas that always surprises me with its modernity. The medicine man uses images from pre-Hispanic Aztec codices…
